Our Story

Vale Industries was founded in August 1974 when Ray Valente acquired Pontiac Machine and established the company in Pontiac, Illinois. While we originally produced agricultural pulleys, we quickly shifted our focus to proprietary products for the steel processing machinery market—laying the groundwork for the steel mill solutions we provide today. In June 1984, the business was purchased by Chuck Dunham, and in 1988 we relocated to a modern manufacturing facility in Vale Industries DeKalb IL, approximately 60 miles west of Chicago.

Decades of growth in custom manufacturing, machine fabrication, and equipment engineering have expanded Vale Industries from a regional operation into a global supplier. Today, our machinery supports customers worldwide—including Asia, China, Russia, and Africa—serving steel mill equipment operations, bar and strip processors, cold heading and roll forming facilities, and metallurgical testing environments across the primary and secondary metals industries.
